Published on Friday, November 1, 2019I adored Larson’s recounting of the planning, construction, and lasting influence of the grounds and facilities of the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair, but I could have done without the interspersed narrative of the life and crimes of H.H. Holmes. As with Julie and Julia, I wish this had been split into two works so I could skip the less interesting thread.
